My wife and I have been following this posting since it began and we're excited to be able to attend. We have been to "Dutch country" many, many times and really love it there. This will be our third season with our Monty. We missed the 2010 rally as it occurred only a month or so after we got our trailer. Then last years, in Maine, we missed because we were in Maine the month before and just couldn't go a second time. But this year we WILL be there. In fact we're arriving several days ahead of the rally.

I am curious about what to expect at the rally. Are there any events planned or does everyone just meet 'n greet and hang out together? There is so much to see and do in that area nobody will be bored. I just wondered if there might be any MOC campfires, cookouts, horseshoe competitions, etc, planned for the weekend.

Regardless, we are anxious to attend. See ya there.

Judy and I are in the process of working on the schedule for the rally. Kevin, you are right about the amount of things to see and do. We don't want to schedule too much as we would like to have everyone experience the area for themselves. Judy is working on a list of "Some of Our favorite Things" to see and do. At this time, we are planning a cookout, a visit to or from a local Montana dealer, possibly a dinner at a local amish restautant, campfire each night (that's a given!!!) Stay tuned. We will be posting the agenda in a few weeks.

Hi there!

Count us - Betty and Dave (and Maggie!) in. Just made our reservations and we'll be in Site #125. I experienced all types of rallies as a kid with my folks, but it will be our first as full-timers and Dave's first rally ever. Looking forward to seeing everyone and their rigs!

Cheers,
Betty

We are signed up but this is to let you know we will be there. Will make reservations soon as we get home from Florida. We decided this will be a good shakedown trip for our new Big Sky to see if anything falls off it. The PA turnpike should beat it up good.

I am forwarding a little info for anyone who just might be arriving early for the rally.

On June 2nd and 3rd the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, PA, is hosting NORFOLK SOUTHERN DAYS, celebrating Norfolk Southern Railway's 30th anniversary. From the RRMPA website:

"Meet today's railroaders and view exciting contemporary and historic railroad equipment on site from the "Thoroughbred of Transportation." Operation Lifesaver, music by the Norfolk Southern Lawmen, special displays and presentations will be on hand. Norfolk Southern, which runs extensive trackage in Pennsylvania, is the successor to a number of earlier railroads that operated in the eastern United States."

As a retired Norfolk Southern employee I highly recommend this event for anyone interested in railroading or railroad history. And you will love the great music by the Norfolk Southern band The Lawmen.

So if you'll be in the area a few days early take an afternoon at the Railroaders Museum of PA. It's located right across the street from the Strasburg Railroad.

It was touch and go for awhile in the delivery of our 3402 Big sky and we thought we might not make the rally. It did come in yesterday and we will pick it up Monday and load it with just enough for a few days/. A ride down the Ohio and PA TPK will be a great shakedown.Looking foward to old friends and new friends.

Traveled the PA Pike yesterday from near Ohio to Lancaster. Good news, very little construction.......compared to previous trips. Had heavy rain much of the way so it took longer than usual. And last night Lancaster was under a tornado watch. Heavy rain here too. Creek came over the banks and was 5 feet from our site. But we didn't float away and are looking forward to the rally. See y'all here.

Oh, yeah!! You are on the lowest level of sites closest to the creek but they are the best sites in the campground. Premium sites the owner calls them. Glad that you did not have to move to higher ground!! Due to several cancellations, the owners moved several site assignments but could not move you into any of the upper sites due to your extended stay. If you need, Judy and I can bring you some water wings!!

See ya'll soon!! We will be leaving Monday morning and arriving around 2 pm.
