What is the advantage of steel valve stems and the cost of same? Receiving 4 sailun tires tomorrow at $573 plus &17.50 per tire change at local shop.

One advantage is if you want to add Tire Pressure Monitor valves, you must have steel because the added weight will eventually break the rubber ones.

Someone will tell me if I'm wrong, but I think metal valve stems are required if these are 110 PSI tires.

You are correct. Rubber are fine to 65 or so cold. Some use rubber or a hybrid at 80#. I switched at 80# then ran LR F at 95# Cougar. The Montana arrived with metal stems and wheels rated to 110#.
Rubber valves with a TPMS sensor spinning around will not last long.

Today's fake 'rubber' valve stems only last five years at most, then crack and leak. (That's why dealers always insist on replacing them when you get new tires.) They're also so wiggly that it's difficult to get anything over 50 lbs or so into your tire. Even cars have metal ones if they've got sensors on them.
