Not necessary but very convenient at times. We use cell phones to communicate during reversing operations. I also cheat and have the camera on. I bought the Furion wireless camera and it is connected to the backup lights on my Monty.

Hey We Be! Same here 44 yrs and 4.5 mil , retired 2017 still don't need back up cameras. My wife does a great job directing me l, she stands where I need to put the left rear corner of the tlr, and that's where I put it nuf said

I totally agree! Amen! 10-4!
My mirrors and wife are for parking. Backup, or Observation camera, is BEST served for for highway use!

My Furrion does great while sitting still. When moving, anythi over 30mph, it sucks!! The ONLY time it's ever working flawlessly is when I used RG6 coax to move the antenna to the shroud of the front A/C.

A Furrion camera came with our Monty; we used it once, too grainy a picture. Cell phones do a better job, especially when hubby listens to me (on the ground & him in the truck). I never thought about using it going down the road. Thanks for the good idea. you can't see if someone is directly behind you.
