Reminder to make reservations for 2009!

I got a call from Mill Creek Camping today asking me to post a reminder to those wanting to make reservations for our rally to call them at 231-436-5584.
Rose said she has 8 confirmed sites and I gave her the 14 count of possibilities. She has set aside 30 sites for us and is hoping folks are getting their vacations setup for the year.
I also told her people may have their vacations schedualed but are wating to see if the economy will pick back up to afford the trip.
God willing and the creek don't rise, we'll have a great rally and have fun if we have 8 or 30 units there!

Steve -

How late can we make reservations? Also, do you know their policy - pay in full at time of reservation? Hope to see everyone there.

Ron, I believe you put down one days deposit and must cancil at least 4 days in advance with a $10 cancellation fee. 3 days or less, no refund! If you leave "early", there is a $3 fee for each early day. That is according to their email conformation to me on my reservation.

Steve,
I was about to make our reservation when my Grandson had the accident. At this time our entire summer is in limbo. We will be heading to PA if things worsen for John or if my daughter needs us. She has plenty of family up there and told us to go on with our summer plans.
Our plans were to leave here May 18 and our 1st stop was Nashville and than the Northeast Rally after which we will head to PA. We planned on leaving PA and head out for Michigan. At this time every part or all of that could change. We'll just have to wait and see.

With our reservation they asked for A one day rate, phoned back in two hours and said they needed three.
Don`t know why it changed.

helmick, I don't have an explaination for that, could have something to do with the rally section?
Glenn and Lorraine, we fully understand any changes to your summer plans. After all, your family comes first. Here's hoping everything works out and he recovers completely!!!!

Don't know why they are changing this policy. Just a guess - many cancellations due to the economy? This is a great destination CG, though and those dates are "prime" time for them. I know in past years they have had a cancellation list for July/August dates. Has to be the fact that they have had a slew of cancellations, and they don't feel they will be able to fill them this year. When we made our reservations last month - as was as stated earlier here - 1 day advance and $10 cancellation fee.

Still worth it in my opinion. Cheryl and I grew up and currently live only 90 minutes from there and we have been there many times. For those who have never been there, you need to see this area. Don't forget to plan a full day for Mack Island. Bring money though. Carriage tours are about $20/person. and you can also golf on the island course, but it takes up a lot of time out of one day. Fort tour is also a must - especially for history buffs. $10/person for that if I recall. Need to check the web sites...

Fort Michillimackinac (sp?) and The Crossings shopping areas are must sees.

Tons of stuff to see and do - also Old Mill Creek Saw Mill - for a town with a population of 400 permanent residents, it really explodes in the summer.

Steve and Patty-- I booked us in for the Rally arriving on the 29th and leaving on the 3rd. We're new at this since it is our first actual Rally or mini Rally! If there is anything we can do just let us know but bare with us that we're NEWBIES!! We'll help where we can!
Can I make one suggestion, however!??! It is rather confusing that there is still a thread or posting for the potluck dinner on this site all the way back from 2005. I thought I was reading a posting for this years potluck dinner and then realized it was for the one back in 2005.
Also, if there is a golf outing-- count me in! I can miss the ball better than anyone on the course! I'll be bringing my clubs with me!

Rondo, hopefully the new topic for the pot luck for 2009 will help eliminate some confusion. I have asked one of the moderators to remove that topic. I can't remove it or move it since I was not the originator of that topic.
Will also get you listed as having reservations made!
