Kitchen window leak.
During a driving wind/ rain storm 2 weeks ago our Montana had a water leak from the kitchen window. The only window to leak. It is different from the rest of them because there are two levers on top that you squeeze together and then lift the little glass up about 1/2 the way up.
The leak was pretty bad because it ran down the counter and back into the bedroom which soaked the carpet. I think I got them mostly dried out before they froze again. (Got to love those Indiana winters!)
Any suggestions how to prevent this from happening again? Thanks! Bruce

Look real good around the outside gasket to see if it fits tight to the wall. Our kitchen window leaked also on our rear kitchen and I found the gasket not tight against the outside wall. used some clear silicone to reseal it had no problem since.

The water was setting on the inside metal ledge of the window frame. Kind of like it blew around the glass somehow.

Besides making sure it is sealed well, take a close look at the "weep" (drain) holes on the bottom. They should be an elongated slit. Check to see that there are no foreign substances in the holes. Use a thin piece of wire to clean them out.

We had a TT that did that once. We were driving in a bad rain storm and had water all over the counter in front of the window, so from then on if I knew it was going to rain when traveling I put black electrical tape over the weep holes and never had water come in again.

wswebster has a good point, if it was a bad storm and you were travelling there is a good chance that water came in the weep holes at the bottom.

Ours too looked as if it was the metal frame, but it was the outer gasket that was not sealed. The water ran just you you described.

We also had an issue with this window. We took it in for a warranty check with the dealer this past fall and they said they had approval to replace the window. We will be picking the unit up in a week or 2. We will keep all informed if it did the trick.

I have not gone to pick the trailer up yet due to conditions of the road. Once I have I will ask the dealer and let you.
