Exit window

Hi. I have a question concerning my exit windows. Am I suppose to have a screen so I can get some fresh air or not? I have an 07 3500rl and if should have a screen I will have to contact my dealer up north. Thanks for any comments

Hello John,
If you have dual pain windows, you will not have a screen.

Yes you should have a screen. It is held in by spring clips so you can remove it in an emergency. All exit windows have them.
Get back with your dealer.

Our bedroom exit window has a screen, the livingroom one doesn't, but it doesn't open either.

On Edit - We don't have dual pane windows.

Mine doesn't have any screens over the escape windows. I also have duel pane windows and that is why according to Keystone.

Our 3295 dual pane exit window in the bedroom does not have a screen. It is a bummer because we enjoy the fresh air from that window. The exit window behind the couch has a small sliding window and a screen for it.

Silly not to have a screen even with dual pane windows. Both kinds have to open so you can get out. I think I'd have to rig a fabric screen held up with velcro so I could have that window open for fresh air without inviting the bugs to join us.

All the windowns we have which are supposed to open or close for ventilation DO have screens. The emergency exit windows (1 in the BR, 1 in tghe LR)do not. I have opened those windows only once, just to make sure they do come open. They aren't used, nor do I believe they are designed to be used, for ventilation. There is a smaller, screened window, opened or closed by a turning a knob, as part of both of those two window assemblies, plus several others in other locations.

Looks like it all depends on Model, year and, maybe, dual pane windows or not, but I can't imagine how that would make a difference...

I'm just guessing, but the reason the dual pane windows don't have screens may be because the second pane has taken up the space previously occupied by the screen.

I think you are right Lonnie. This is evidently something that has not changed through the years. We do not have dual panes and have a screen. I remember when I first joined the MOC there was discussion about this and it was decided the dual panes leave out the screen in the bedroom. We use the ceiling vent for ventilation usually anyway. Rarely open that window.

Had to go and check ours, the living room has no screen but it doesn't open as a regular window, the bedroom has a screen.

Our old 2955RL has screens all around, and I do believe that our bedroom window which serves as the emergency exit is also designed to be opened for ventalation. For sure, that's the way we use it, and I wouldn't want to be without it.

Now, ya all know ole leaky memories, but mine tells me that this question has been around MOC a couple of times, and each time, when we get to the end line, it is:

Those of us with single pane windows have screen in the bedroom over the dresser.

Those of you who opted for double pane windows, have no screen in the bedroom over the dresser.

Some one made a screen, posted about it, want to say it was Samantha (Dick and Patty), but been too long for me to swear to that either!

We have a 2007 3650RK and it has no screen in the LvRm slideout EXIT Window. However there is a screen for a small 6" window that opens below that EXIT window. As for the BdRm EXIT Window there is a screen.

I have a 2007 Montana...trying to make some curtains before I go up to the campground...and forgot to measure the window in the bedroom slide (2 windows - one n either side of bed)... anyone have a ballpark idea of measurements? I have looked at specs, pics on line etc without much luck. Thank you. (Big oops for not measuring when I was there!)
