Full update on new F450

Two people sent me requests for info and update. I got my 6.7 2013/14 Ford F450 (reason 2013/14 is all new changes while slight, were installed when manufactured in April)! Took it on 9000 mile trip between Ca and Albany NY and places in between! Average 10.5 over entire trip towing 3750 and full water tanks, gear and 250 lbs of dogs. I got little over 5000 miles from a box of Def (10.95 at autozone) using Tow Mode. You can program def usage, using trucks application setting, if towing will be the main usage. I have over 13,000 miles and getting about 11.2 mpg when not towing. Not much difference and I am using it as daily driver. She has torque to spare and grades were no match for its power. The exhaust brake is best feature by far!. The F450 has a wider front stance than the F350, and you can actually turn it around in 2 lanes, and park it without backing up twice. It's very quiet, comfortable and the cooling feature in the seats worth their weight in cold. (get it)! Lol Recently had back surgery and truck was very comfortable. New sync system is excellent and voice recognition works first try! No complaints at all. I had it serviced in NY. And made appointment through sync system. Very happy so far.

P.S. I do have one major complaint I forgot about! My truck came with " fifthwheel prep package". It is not compatible with other hitches, only the Reese system. It was a first class pain in ass to modify. I got the good people at "Curt" to help with a work around.

We have a new Escape with the Sync. I'm sure it understands English but it doesn't understand hick which I guess I speak because it doesn't understand one thing I say. Our 2011 Edge didn't either. Oh well I will just use the old fashion buttons.

Ya I saw that "Lost" after I had my Curt installed. The main thing is "Ford never and still does not" disclose the issue. To me it sounded like a great option, but with one vender deal. Not happy bout that fact! Even sales manager was unaware. My dealer gave me service credits to ease my pain! Lol
