Humboldt California

We are heading over to the Eureka area the first week of May. Does anybody know the best route from the Salt Lake City area. Some of the roads from Reno west look a little small, any inside info. would be greatly appreciated.

That is a hard one to call...I am from the area and there really is no great way to get to Humboldt County area. Hwy 101 from the bay area gets a little narrow thru the redwoods, but sure is pretty. Great park is Benbow RV park, next to a historic hotel and on the river. If you are thinking of coming thru Reno, Susanville then 299 over to Eureka the roads are in the mountains, but good until you get to 299. 299 is a two lane scenic highway and there are tight turns and cliffs, but it is do-able. They run semi trucks over it all day long. Like I said there is no great way, but is can be done with-out chewing your fingers to the quick. Safe Travels
