Cleaning Day Nite Shades
Has anyone tried cleaning the day shades? If so what did u use and did it work?
Also, we want to replace the DayNite Shades by the dining room table, but can't see away to take down the present shade. Any suggestions?
MOC site is great, have learned so much.

According to the "DirtyBlindman" it is not a good idea to use any soap or chemical as this will remove the starch from the blind and you will be left with floppy piece of fabric. He recommends the use of deionized water. Pull shade down, mist with water and let dry. Brush with a semi-stiff brush, mist again then put the shade up and let dry, this will shape the pleats.

Ok found the screws to take down valance. Deionized water? Is that the same type one would use for batteries? Distilled?

Distilled or Deionized water are the same for all practical purposes, it is just the process by which they are made that is different. And Yes, either can be used to top up a battery. Neither one has any dissolved solids in them, so they won't leave spots, or contaminate a battery.

Carol,
This was information I picked up from the Dirty Blind Man when we were in Quartzsite. They do have a cleaning kit which I know nothing about, good or bad.
