WooHoo done working

After working for 35 years for one company, I am on 2 months of vacation and then retirement on Jan 1. Had a nice party at work yesterday. I was hoping I would sleep better last night, but all I did was think about work! I guess it will take a bit to believe that I am really done! No plans to full/part time as the Monty is on a seasonal site in northern WI.

I joined a womens ski club, so that will take care of Tuesdays in the winter!

Congrats, Judi!! It will take a bit to unwind. Look out for a little let down depression. But it won't take you long to completely enjoy your retirement.

Congrats Judi

I myself am 1 month and 8 days into retirement and i just love it.I worked for the same company for 37 years and I don`t miss work one bit.I`am loving this Florida weather, playing golf 4 times a week, hanging around the pool.Life is grand.I do catch myself thinking about my former co-workers but that passes quickly rolling in a 20 foot birdy putt(smiling)

Enjoy your retirement you so deserve this for yourself.

Congratulations on your retirement. After I retired, a friend called me up and asked if I had any depression following my retirement. I told him yes - I was depressed I couldn't do it ten years earlier!!!

Congrats Judi, may you have many years of health to enjoy the best years of your life! Soon you will find yourself so busy you will wonder how you had any time at all to work. Keep us posted.

Congratulations and welcome to your next leg of your life's journey. You probably will have a trace of depression but soon you will wonder how you had any time for work, you will be so busy. I had a problem at first because I had lived my life believing retirement was for "old folks," and I didn't consider myself to be old in my late 60s. Now I wonder how I had time to work because there just seems like there is so much to do. Enjoy your new freedom!

Judi,

It won't take long for you to find that everything doesn't have to be done on any ones schedule but your own...relax, enjoy! You earned the peace and time.

Congratulations!

Spent yesterday with my chorus, I sing with the City of Lakes Sweet Adeline chorus, getting coaching, spent today 4 wheeling. What to do on my first Monday off??!! I'll watch out for the blues, it is a bit disconcerting to think that I don't plan to work again!

Congratulations. Your next problem will be trying to figure out how you had time to work.
