We started out in March 2022 - had everything sold and done by February - traveled in a Toyota Prius and mooched off our kids and family for a few weeks lol.

New Montana

We have been full timing since 2019. Traded 32 MH for new 3791RD. Love the layout. Not overly impressed with quality, but no major issues so far. Currently doing a workamping job in cool NH for summer. Have a lot in Florida set up for the RV for winter, with some travel in between. Love the lifestyle but DW sometimes miss sticks and bricks.

Update to our status

Well, our house closes on 11/1. It has been a long adventure filled with terror, excitement and a grueling schedule. On 7/10/22 we decided to retire and go full time. Since then, we have liquidated almost all our belongings, cleaned out and painted our house and made necessary repairs.
Our first buyer failed to get financing, so we went back on the market again. Within 3 days we had another acceptable offer and we are in the process of completing that now. We are changing our domicile to South Dakota and have been living in our Montana full time since 9/8/22and just arrived in SD on monday. So it has been a whirlwind the last few months and we are looking forward to slowing down a bit. I have not even figured out this retirement thing yet, never know what day it is! And November we will be moving to AZ for the winter.
We will NOT miss the Wisconsin winter! I hope never to handle a snow shovel again.
Please add us to the Montana full timer list.
Thanks
Todd & Mary

We've been full timing for a little over 5 years. We spend summers in northern Idaho and winters in Quartzsite. We lived in an Arctic Fox 27-5l for almost five years. We recently traded it in on our 2022 Keystone Montana 3231CK. While in Quartzsite we boondock in La Posa West providing 100% of our power via fridge. On Monday I'm having a 12volt Amish cooling unit installed in my Norcold 2118 (which has a grossly undersized cooling unit from the factory).

We are starting our 4th season in Q town. Cheers

Can you elaborate on how you provide 100% of your power via fridge?

That was quite a brain fart. I meant to say that 100% of our power in the winter is via solar. Also, once my modification is done to the fridge, it will run on 12 volt and solar will provide 100% of my 12 volt year round. Thus, my fridge will be powered via my solar arrays.

Maybe I should proof read...
cheers

Thanks for the clarification. I was hoping I could produce more power by keeping more beer cold. Brain farts are much more common the older I get. Somedays I could use Beano for the Brain.

We have been full time since April 2022.
2013 3400RL. 🥰
We consider the experience a 9, because right now we are parked on our church property and the noise from the freeway is loud. Other than that life is great. Planning to do some remodeling to make it more 'ours'.

My wife and I purchased our '22 Montana 3231CK in August and started full timing. We had a previous 5er that we lived in for a few months during a move. We had talked about full timing several times through the years and finally decided we had to do it now or give up any hope of ever doing so. We at our 3rd park since our new beginning and are enjoying it so far,

My wife and I also purchased a 2022CK though we've been full timing for a little over five years. We used to live in an Arctic Fox fiver. I'd like to share notes.

Ours came with a Norcold 2118 fridge which is a beautiful huge stainless thing. While it is a beautiful fridge, it just didn't work well if the outside temps were above 90. And it was a power/propane hog. We installed one of the JC Refrigeration cooling units that is a two compressor vapor compression (residential style) that runs on 12 volt. It works great. Freezer stays between -5 and 0 and fridge is 32-38 degrees. It draws about 11 amps. We use between 300-400 ah a day of power... which a LOT more than our Fox ever used.

We learned the hard way that we have to carefully sweep the floors before moving the slides. We have a damage spot due to a rock on our flooring that the dealer wants 1400 dollars to repair.

We have 1400 watts of solar and 600ah of lithium Lifeblue batteries (two 300ah batteries).

Our closet doors stick really really bad. If wife opens the doors she can't close them. I need to take some sandpaper to the lower door guides.

Every other time our living room TV is turned on it has no sound. We have to turn it off, rest it for a moment and then turn it on. It's a pita.

A couple blinds don't work right, and a bedroom blind doesn't roll up.

Otherwise we love our home. But getting service after the sale isn't easy. The dealer is really good at ignoring me and breaking promises. I would not recommend this trailer due to the pitiful service from the Keystone dealer in Lewiston Idaho. I love it otherwise.

I'd love to hear about your experiences with this beautiful fiver.

Cheers
Tom

Hello Tom, I took the liberty of creating a new thread for us to compare our '22 3231CK and experiences and copied our posts over to get started. I would love to compare notes.

I do find it interesting that a 2006 thread is still having yearly visits. Glenn would be pleased that he lives on within the MOC world. For those new to the forum, at the top of this page, you will find that this is page 17 of 17. If you hit first, it will take you back to the original post and can see the dates. Sometimes you are best just starting a new post and not tagging onto old posts.
