2016 f350 vs 2016 chevy 2500hd

I currently own a fully loaded 2500 had crew with a duramax. I pull a Montana HC 352 rl. It pulls it well but I'm sure I'm at or over my payload for truck. I found a 2016 Ford F-350 diesel srw crew cab lariat with similar options as mine. They will trade me straight up. In guess I'm wondering what f350 owners think of there trucks? I love my duramax but wondering if I should pull the trigger. Looking for opinions! Thanks

Love mine! 2017 F350 DRW FX4 CC 6.7L PSD with 4.10 rear end. It gets between 9.0 and 10.5 mpg towing our 2017 3811ms (> 2800 hitch weight and at or above 15,000 lbs loaded; 41 feet long); but I never tow at speeds above 65 mph (and that's on real smooth highways). Empty it gets about 12.8 - 17.5 mpg depending on driving conditions. Driven 5500 miles with 1200 miles towing and have only had to add 2.5 gallons to date and I'm at 1/4 tank of DEF right now. Dually is much more stable; especially when there is a cross wind! Don't even know it's back there until you look in the mirror. I will be adding Air Lift 5000 air bags and on board air compressor to it soon. Just so it tows at factory ride height in order for the front tires to wear much better.

I have a 2012 F350 bought new and love it. I don't think there is any difference between Ford or Chevy as far as performance or reliability. Or Ram for that matter. Just which ever fits your butt better and most appeals to you. The F350 should give you a boost in payload though.

What do you get for mileage empty? This is also my daily driver and that's one thing I love about my duramax is my fuel mileage. I'm just wondering if I'm gaining anything but payload...

My typical daily driving is about 25%/75% highway/city and the mileage runs 15.0-15.5 mpg. Pure highway running empty, if I keep my foot out and stay below 70, the mileage will run about 20 mpg depending on terrain and wind. I am not at all an aggressive driver, but I do tend to cheap on posted speed.

Had the F250 now a 2016 F350 SRW. Bought new 8 months ago and going on 34,000 miles. About 8,000 pulling over 14,000#. Lariat ultimate package 4X4 payload around 3500.

My 2016 F350 is my daily driver too. Depending on the type of "daily" driving I do my mileage Varies between 12 and 15 MPG (I live 1.5 miles from my office so I get poor mileage). When weekend driving longer distances around town close to 15 MPG. I love mine, pulls my 3160RL great and within weight specs.

That's one thing I really like about my duramax is the exhaust brake. It makes a huge difference

We just got our 2016 F350 five months ago, but we love it so far. Had a 2008 F350 and loved it also. The 2016 gets much better mileage though.
You didn't mention what year your 2500 is. But honestly, even if it's only one year old, a straight up deal isn't something to turn your nose up at. Especially since the 350 has a wee bit more hauling capacity.
In our camping circle we have all three manufacturers represented and other than styling preferences I cannot knock any of them. Ford, GM and RAM all know how to build a solid tow vehicle. It all boils down to what you like.

The 6.7 is a monster, and it is so quiet. Pulling up the mountains on the way to Glacier last year, was passing vehicles on steep inclines in 6th gear and 2000 rpm. just cruising along...

Just purchased a 2016 F-350 Dually Platinum edition. Towed the Monty 353RL home from the lake the weekend we purchased the truck. 30 Mile an hour winds. What a difference from the F-250 we had. As many have said, "Once you go Dually, you won't go back." Towed Monty to Minnesota for a week. It was a smooth tow. Glad I decided to get the Dually !

If you are looking for fuel mileage, stick with the Duramax. I doubt that your HC is causing an overload situation unless you are exceeding the GVWR.

Just reread this, you are going to F350 SRW... this gains you what in GVWR? 1000# or so?

I looked at upgrading to the F350 SRW and it would have got me GVWR legal but just barely.

I believe I pick up 1500lbs. To the f350 srw owners isn't the gvr 11500 on the 350? I'm leaning towards doing it. Just so I'm under my limits vs over. I have a new baby and don't really wanna be overloaded not worth it.

I'm over my gvr by about 850lbs! Still under what the truck can pull but over what it can legally carry

You can get an F350 with a 10K gvwr but I've only seen 11.5K in 2016.
