It is too noisy, you hate to have it in operation when it is real windy, the cheap lid, (that is prone to sticking shut) waves like a newspaper in the wind, flexing back and forth.
A light dew in the morning keeps it from operating, you can't use it in the rain without an optional cover, I wouldn't spend the money on.
Did I mention the pc. of junk is noisy?
The control panel is printed so small, if you want to adjust it, you have to go get your reading glasses, and half the time I have it set on a thermostat and it shuts down. I still have trouble getting it on the high (or) low speed.
And it is too noisy!
Give me another Maxx-Air anytime!
So there.

No cabin fever here, my biggest problem is the sea gulls are on the roof fighting over a T-bone, it's rolling and bouncing all over the roof, they are fighting over it. Humorous for me, but I imagine Rip Van Winkle up in the bedroom is not a happy camper......

What are you doing at home anyway. Didn't anyone tell you "It is Spring Break" time in the valley. You are suppose to be on the beachgirlwatching. Sue may not go along with that though. Better go shopping for a new fan....JB

deadeye, we have been doing that, mucho fun. We have met lots of nice kids from the Midwest, they are absolutely giddy about being here in the Sun. I will make my daily 12-14 mile journey on my bike. Today is my Birthday, so Sue will be making my Cherry pie and thawing steaks for dinner, I am glad the wind is behaving, maybe a relative easy ride both ways this day.
We rarely use the crazy fan, I have the Maxx-air up outside the shower, it is so quiet and powerful as well. The fan being on the roof side of the housing makes it very quiet.
I have met a young contractor, he has used me a few times for electrical work, I will do more next year.
I wired up his radio in the used Bronco he just bought the other day.
Very nice people here on the Island.

Happy Birthday Jim.
If your fantastic fan is noisy, something is wrong. Ours is so quiet we often forget to turn it off. This reminds me of our noisy furnace. Our units we had had noisy ones also, so we thought it was just RVs. Doug came into our Monty at Quartzsite and told us it shouldn't be that noisy. Ed put something under one corner (it was vibrating against the floor) and now it is much quieter.

My FF is very quiet also. The problem I have is that if it is not used every day the lid sticks and it will not open. I have tried cleaning around the lid and removed the plastic spacer on top as the dealer suggested but it still sticks. I finally got tried of climbing on the roof to get it freed and just punched a small hole in the screen and push it with a wire hanger. Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this problem. I use my fan alot because the power in my park just wont support running the air conditioner. I only have a 30 amp hookup and I am at the end of the line. I have to have everything in the unit turned off to run the AC.

Our lid stuck until we followed suggestions from the forum to spray around the lid with silicone. Now it works fine and has for the last several months.

Our FF is noise when at the highest speed. Drove us nutz until we began running it at the lower speeds. Very quiet and very effective.

We have a Max-Aire in the rear of our 3295 (in our kitchen). Has the motor outside the unit.

We have the Fantastic Fan in the bath area of the bedroom, manual open, basic version of the FF.

Max-Aire wins the noise contest.

That said the 2003 version of the FF, is MUCH quieter than the 1989 version was.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY - Ozz I can smell those steaks cooking on the grille and I can also smell that cherry pie. Wind must be blowing out of the South bringing those flavorful smells from the valley clear up to NE Iowa... Have a good one on your 19th birthday...

Dealer suggested using Pam cooking spray on the vent seal. Haven't tried it yet or the silicone as suggested previously! Happy BD!!

Thank you all. I just got back from my ride, Sue has a killer pie on the counter, and I took a bunch of pictures for my Forum friends......no Spring Break pictures, just South Padre pictures.
I want to keep within the spirit of good camping and good times.
Wanted to bring a little Sunshine into the Northern states.
Thank you for the input on Fantastic fan noise, it really does sound like wind generated noise, but I will contact the factory and see what's up.

Happy Birthday! I knew I liked you for some reason. I'm a March baby too! (25th).

We once had a Fantastic fan where the gears stripped and the darn thing wouldn't stop opening and closing. Good luck on getting help from the factory.
