It change when the software changed. It is not the fault of ADMIN. It appears everybody lost them so it was not selective. We are all in the same boat.

If you want one approved send it to LadyRV. It is just the way forumco set this up so don't be too hard on the Lady. It wasn't by request that this happened. So send your avitar to LadyRV. I don't know if she can approve it or not. This is new to us right now.

Unfortunately with the new software the Avatar process was changed significantly.
The few Avatars you may see have been test type situations. With the new software an admin person is the only one who may add or delete Avatars. It is a somewhat cumbersome process whereby the Avatar must first be uploaded and then must be assigned to a member.... all this by admin. With almost 2000 members we (admin) are somewhat leery about opening this process to the general membership at this time. And while we realize that not ALL members would want an Avatar it would still amount to a significant workload. And unfortunately this workload cannot be delegated due to its current structure.
We are working with the Forum software provider to see if this process can be simplified. As soon as we know anything regarding this issue we will let you know.

Thanks for the explanations. Sounds like it's a whole lot more work for Admin this way. I'm not sure what was wrong with the prior arrangement but those far smarter than me make these decisions, I guess.

Steve. Your original quote" but those far smarter than me make these decisions, I guess."
My comment -- don't bet on it. From my persective as a member of Engineering, then Markting and Business Development, and then General Management -- there has never been a group more oblivious to unintended consequences than IS. (except maybe the CIA)...
