Napa Valley, CA

We would like to head up to Napa Valley, CA. Can anyone recommend a nice campground or state park that wouldn't bankrupt me. Thanks

You are probably out of luck. We are heading up that way ourselves. My daughter lives in Benicia and use to work for the city of Napa. We have searched high and low for RV parks. We are going to stay in Vacaville (Vineyard RV Park). The County fair grounds in Napa has a small RV parking area that was upgraded last year. I do not know the price. We opted not to go there because of the intense traffic in the area. If you are a veteran, there is a family park near Fairfield.
Happy trails................................

We stayed at the Napa Expo last month. It's a first come first serve park. Clean, spacious, great hook ups. We didn't experience much traffic and were able to visit the vinyards and experience the Wine Country.

With Good Sam, I think we paid $31.00

Skyline Wilderness Park might work out. It has full hookups (30A). Kind of on the rough side, but not bad.

We like the fairground RV Park in Calistoga which is 20-30 miles north of the city of Napa at the north end of Napa Valley. Calistoga is not as congested as the city of Napa and has a more picturesque or quaint Main street. The RV Park does not have many amenites but has full hookups at about half of their sites and water and elec at the others. Also, towering sycamore trees throughout the park which provide alot of shade on those hot summer days. There is a small golf course next to the RV park with some sites that backup to the course, very pretty. If a remember correctly, the sites were about $30 a night. Check out their web site.
www.napacountyfairgrounds.com Then click on RV Park.
BTW-Sterling Winery is only a couple of miles south of downtown Calistoga. They have an awesome tour, not to mention their great wine. The winery sits on top of a hill and is modeled after a Greek villa and you ride up to the winery in a gondola!!, breathtaking view.
Hope you enjoy your visit. We will go back up in October, hope we can afford the fuel to get there!!

The fair grounds in Napa are pretty cheap and a good hang out
