Failure multiple times.

After two different bike racks and to many times someone waving me down to say my bikes are loose I have given up on the rear mount of my Monty.

We purchased E bikes and were not going to have the issue again. We had a 2” hitch mounted on the front of our F350 and purchased the Hollywood rack for heavy bikes. On long trips I do remove the handle bar on the bike in my view and fasten it to the bike frame. This far, success.

I have the rear storage on the 3790RD. If there was a bike rack there on the 2" receiver, it would prevent access to that large compartment. Last trip, I just stuck the bikes on their side in the sliding tray and separated them with a furniture pad. I did remove the front wheels/tires so I could turn the handle bars flat. Still had a ton of room for all the other gear.

I have a rack mounted on/over the pin box, have carried two bikes across Canada down to Florida on to Phoenix and back home. The only concern is if you have a short box truck you will probably require an automatic sliding hitch like the PullRite Superglide.

This is a Canadian company but it is available in the US. Check the website arvika.ca.
