Like above, I have never had a problem buying DEF from Walmart. Containers have always had intact seals.

I did notice Home Depot carrying it now, but have not compared prices.

Try to find a heavy truck parts supply store...I pay $9 cdn or about $7 Usd per 2.5 gal jug at fort garry in Canada. Truckers buy in bulk and the prices are always way better than retail stores. Never buy the jugs at flying j or loves...pardon the pun but they hose you lol....

A quick question by new ford diesel owner. First truck with def. 2000km on vehicle and gauge still reads full? Is this normal or being in Canada is their a freezing issue?

At only 2000km (1200+ miles), assuming your are not towing full time, you shouldn't have used enough DEF to trigger a change in the reading. Remember, it will display ok until it drops below 1/2 full. Then the next notification is when you get to 500 miles left. I just added 2 1/2 gallons when the display dropped to 1/2 full. That was 4500+ miles with only 200 miles of towing.

Angry

That's normal especially for a new truck. My 2016 ram got about 5,000km on the first 5 gallon tank of def, now it doses a tank over about 4,000kms. All the new trucks have heaters in the tanks to keep the def above freezing in winter but all brands reported issues up here in January when it was -30 out. My pump froze and truck gave me so many kilometres to get to dealer or
It would have derated. Thank the EPA for all this crap. Extra 500 pounds and 6k of pollution abatement equip on your truck that robs you of about 3mpg and 50hp. So you burn 300-500 gallon more fuel per year year to met the EPA requirements....brilliant huh?

Talking DEF, not yet!!

My wife says I can't hear too well. But I don't think it's all that bad. (2010 Dodge RAM 3500 with Cummins diesel)
