Waiting to get on the road

This is our last year in the Air Force (26 years). Our plans is to full time for eight months to a year then settle in Colorado Springs. As preparation, we acquired a Momtana 3400. The kitchen was the selling point for the wife. We will start in August/Sept from Arizona, head to the northeast, travel down to FL, then across to the SW. Then wherever the mood strikes, ending up in the Springs around summer 2012.

We know there's a lot to learn and hope the forum will help.

Welcome aboard! If you get to leave a little early, come on up to Nebraska for the MOC Central Plains Regional Rally to be held July 13th-18th. It's a good way to learn more about your rig, get to meet some really great MOC members and enjoying some really great food while enjoying our sites around the Omaha/Lincoln area. Since you're in the AF, were you ever stationed at Offutt? We have a great Museum here too. It used to be the SAC Museum when it was on-base at Offutt but is now just off I-80 just over the Platte River. Again welcome aboard and if you have any questions, ask away! This is the most knowledgable forum around when it come to Montanas!

Welcome and congratulations!! You might want to plan on going to the National Rally in Goshen, Indiana the 3rd week in Sept. Great way to meet other MOCers and to get some great advice and first hand knowledge. Also, the dealers are there with great deals on add-ons for the Monty. Happy trails!!

CasaDelSol- thanks for the heads up on the Goshen rally. Where can I get more info on it? We may be going that way around that time.

Thank you and congrats to the Bakers. Our son is a lifer in the AF also. We were thrilled when he joined because we thought he would be safer than I was when I got drafted in the 60's and then they sent him to the desert and let him drive convoy's into Bagdad. He ended up over there three times but thank god, no injuries. We are retired and on our second Monty so I'm sur you will love yours too. This forum is awesome and somebody will always answer you question.

Welcome and congratulations on your upcoming retirement. As you travel around the country don't forget to use some of your military benefits that you worked so hard for.
There are so many military campgrounds and RV parks to stay at.
In case you didn't have the link, here it is.

Enjoy and safe travels.

Thanks all for the welcomes and good information. Future plans are to go back to Alaska via the Alcan. We were stationed at Eielson for four years and loved our time there. Had a Class C at the time and saw quite a bit of the state along with traveling DOWN the Alcan when we moved back to the lower 48. We have loved our time in the AF, but are ready to now go where the mood strikes and not where the military needs you. Seven months and counting....
