Tire replacement on my Dodge

After shopping prices with 4 different tire stores, I surprisingly got the best deal from Sears. I am staying with the same Michilens that I have had since day 1. My current ones are 6 yrs old with 60000 miles and though tread depth is still good they are showing cracked side walls and some dry rot.
The amazing thing is that Sears was $100 cheaper than the closest competitor. Part of the savings was attributed to ordering on line rather than purchasing from their tire store. The tires are in stock and Sears is doing the mounting. Even the salesman at the store could not explain why the on line price was cheaper than the in store though a lot of people do the on line ordering.
