We use Sam's Club as we travel for lots of things not just big or bulk items. We use their golf cart batteries and tires. Food wise we really like their big rotisserie chickens as we get several meals out of their and their big pre cooked ribs. Really good. Sometimes we can get a really good price on prescriptions but that depends on the state. Computer/TV items are usually found at a good price too. We also like that we can pull into the large lot with no problems. We have found diesel at good prices on occasion too. Hugs, Di

At Sam's Clubs where gas and diesel are sold, you can often get a 3 cent discount if you use their Walmart credit card or their gift card. We usually do some shopping and end up buying a hundred dollar gift card and then use it for fuel.

My mistake, I thought they sold diesel with all the big motorhomes we have seen there. Guess they were V-10's....

My recent neighbor here explained to me that they went gas over diesel because many of the diesel pushers require the mechanic to service many items on the engine thru the bedroom leaving diesel smells that are hard to get rid of. They said they were willing to trade up hill speed for clean smelling bedroom.

Hey Mike, get your gas at Walmart, and some (maybe not all) have Diesel. At our local SAM's club they will accept the Walmart card but do not give a discount.

With the Walmart card "at Walmart" you save 10 cents a gallon.

Dick

I have had my SOB serviced several times in the past four years and I have never had a diesel smell in the BR. I think you neighbor had a less than careful mechanic.

Probably true, but they're out there.

We carry a small chest freezer with us. Once we get settled we put it under the skirt around the 5th wheel. It works perfect for us, we can shop at Sams buying larger packages of meat & chicken. When I get home I wrap everything in single portions. If it is a roast then cut it to make enough for two or four. It saves us so much time and gas going out to the grocery store every couple of days.

Excellent point! If there isn't a grocery near you, as with us now, gas has to be a factor.
