Graphics

Hey, Keystone! You have a problem with your decals on Montana units provided by Burlington Graphics. Our 2006 Montana 2955RL is really looking shabby, with the peeling and cracking graphics. Some owners have had good luck getting them replaced under warranty, but it seems that the replacement program depends on the phase of the moon, or something.

Step up and address the problem, for customer goodwill if nothing else.

Took a walk around the KOA campground we were overnighting at in Georgia yesterday and several brand and types of Rv's had cracking and peeling graphics. Seems to be a universal problem. Showed the cracking and peeling graphics on our 06 3400 to the reps at the rally?? Wonder what will happen??? The thing is we have followed to the letter the instructions related to us and the handouts given us at the many Fall rallies by Burlinton graphics..and....they still peeled and cracked???? What to do.....what to do...

We also have a 2006 2955RL. The front cap is so faded and pitted. I told DH I want the "mountain" removed and just leave the "Montana" because that would not look bad except it would look a little boring. On the sides the graphics are peeling a little so we will take a razor blade and shave off the peeling edges. Those graphics are in good shape and not fading. If I had the money Rondo I would paint it, but I am just a poor retired mail carrier

Also have a 06 3400 RL that all of the decals are peeling off. Stopped at the factory and they will supply new decals under warranty but we have to pay to have them replaced I was not happy with that but it is better than nothing. The decals started peeling when the unit was 2 years old, and I have seen several in the same condition. All I can say is stay after them and see what they will do for you. I think to many people give up and thats what they count on. Safe Travels.

I've noticed that there are other manufacturer's rigs whose decals are peeling also. Friend of mine just removed the front decals and left the front bare. Looks pretty good too!

It does go across brands. I have a friend with a small FunFinder TT. Don't know the model year, but his graphics look very bad. And I have also seen other brands in parks with bad graphics.
I still do not understand it, but my 2007 3075RL graphics still look great. I am sure they are faded some if I could compare it to how they looked new, but you really can't tell it just by looking. And no peeling and no cracking at all, front, sides, or rear. Just a few chips here and there from rocks and bugs.

I've tried Keystone and Montana customer relations with no luck. I'm still convinced it has something to do with the phase of the moon.

I tried to get some help a couple years ago on ours. same story, out of warranty, were sorry, but there is not much we can do about it.blah,blah,blah... Even though others say that sob's do it also does not make it right.I know you have heard this from me before(oh boy, here he goes again!!) but if your car or truck started peeling paint or stripes you would never put up with it. We pay as much or more for these as we do our trucks but we put up with much more grief when it comes to warranty issues..

We were in goshen in September, and were mailed a new set of graphics, because we were a 2008RL. Once passed this date, I guess you are on your own...didn't know there was a cut off date. we tried to get compensated for the removal and re application, but they won't budge. It would seem to be to their benefit to offer a low cost way of improving the look of their units. We got a bid to replace and it was almost $2000....I guess we will let them peel some more...
It would seem if we come back to goshen next year, someone could start a business helping to upgrade these units...lol...

I don't understand why some peel off, others, like ours are fine. I do keep Protect All on them and keep the Montana out of the weather in a closed storage facility when not in use, but that's all. We use it about four months a year.

Probably has a lot to do with the closed storage. The sun is pretty brutal on those decals. Should last longer than a few years, though.

We have an '04 and it sits out all year long- hot sun in summer, cold winds and etc in the winter and have good graphics yet. Got to be the materials used or specific batches.

Ours started to go after 6 years and it is always out in all kinds of weather. They looked good at 5 years and slowly started to peel and shrink in the 6th year. I was told by another graphics shop at home that 6 years was not bad for that quality of graphics.

If you are in Goshen and need work done on your rigs look up Fox r.v. They are in Middlebury at 13431 County rd.22. They do excellent work and are very fair in thier pricing. Our unit is there now having the decals and grey water tank replaced. We have had them do other work and have been very happy with them.

You said a mouth full then. I am in total agreement. The decal issue seems to me to be just like the service center issue we have debated. Some get good service, some get none.

Our back decal has been bad for some time. Now the front one is peeling back on the edges. No way I pay for decals or installation. If I do anything, I'll find an airbrush artist and pay them to do a nice front cap design.....and you can bet it won't be advertising for Montana!

Does anybody have a template for where decals go on a 07 Monty? Got graphics from Keystone in mail, however all they have written on them is a 6 digit (119 or 214 prefix) written in pencil.

Ours is a 3585SA 10th edition 2009.
In 6 months the graphics started pealing.
Now they look horrible. So much for Montana

Our 2006 monty is in the same shape as all of yours Decals peeling we took extreme care of them as was told to by Keystone but this still happened. I will not pay to have them replaced I really don't care to advertise for Keystone. I will take them off and will have our local sign shop do a wrap with high quality material or my just leave it white. I have been here in the same park for 6 months and there are many monty's parked here all ages and all look like poo same deal decals peeling looked at other brands and some look like mine and some don't but the high end motor homes don't have this problem seems to be a trailer problem. hmmm makes one think.

I do find it interesting that our 2000 does not have decal peeling and it has been outside for almost 12 years now in extreme heat and extreme cold. My mind keeps going back to the adhesive being used by the Graphics company. It seems that from about 2004 or 2005 until now, owners have had decal problems.

Do others with the older Montanas have the decal problem?
