Smooth Talker Signal Booster

In the June 2007 Trailer Life, they write about staying connected in a RV. They discussed using the Smooth Talker Siganl Booster with the KR1. I just ordered the KR1, but wanted some input on the booster. Does anyone use this? When I bought my Verizon Air Card I also bought the external antenna, but found that I did not really need it. Comments?
