Dish 500 Receivers

I have a Dish 300 system set up here in TX. All the guys in the park keep telling me to find a Dish 500. Luck came to me today. The park is takeing out a old mobile home. The home has a Dish 500 which they gave me. The question is will the 500 work with my old receiver which I use on the 300 dish?

old turbo i have a dish network. and was having trouble setting it up with a new dish 500. i am in the rgv and i called matthes to come and set it up. when they got here they told me that the new dish would not work with my old receiver. but new receviers will work with old dish's. the differance is just the lnb. they changed my lnb to a older unit and worked perfect.

old turbo, I upgraded from 300 to 500 last october, and used my 8 yr old receiver, but you have to get the older lnb, not the digital 500 lnb. but 3 weeks ago I wanted the 322 receiver that I could watch both tv's an view different programs with 2 remotes. then I had to change the lnb to the digital. I really like this set up and it works great. hope this helps. u can tell if the 500 dish u getting will work with your older receiver if on the LNB it "DOES NOT" have digital in black letters on the LNB.
