Pressure washer for roof
Has anyone ever used a pressure washer to clean the rubber roof? We just bought a 1700 psi washer and wondered if it would be safe to use on the roof.

I don't think that would be a wise thing to do - with that much pressure you could damage the roofs rubber membrane. Also be careful of using it on the graphics of your Montana....you can peel them off.

I agree with Steves. The rubber is real thin. The pressure washer will cut it so fast, a good brush and some cleaner will get it clean.

I've been there and done that when it comes to tearing the graphics with a power washer. BECAREFUL they will peel very easily.

Ken and Joan,
We have had our rig since 2002 and EVERY time we've washed it or had it washed.... the roof has been pressure washed. The roof is in excellent condition and so far we've had NO problem with it. As long as you don't get the tip too close to the membrane you shouldn't have any problem.
Test it on some similar type material or on a small section of the roof. If you're nervous about using it then it's probably best not to use it. I was worried the first time one was used on my rig too.
Good luck

Ken and Joan, Like HamRad has said, I have not had a problem with pressure washing my roof. I use a 2300 psi washer and watch that I do not put the head to close to the roof. I use the wide spray nozzel to do the roof with also. I also have used it on the fibreglass and I do have a few pieces of the graffics missing. Stand back when using it over the graffics is the best advise I can give.

Hey guys...the pressure washer is a bad idea. Had a friend who did it and it actuall ate a hole in the filon walls. Not a good think to do.
