Calgon in the Dish Soap

I am sure that most of you all ready know this but I stumbled on it yesterday while doing the dishes. The bottle of calgon was on the counter so I said to my self "SELF" why don't you put some of that in the dish water. Well let me tell you that it is great not only did it make the water soft but it made the dishes dry a lot faster, and talk about soft hands well you will have to try it out to see that. So after I got done I thought why not pour some of it in the bottle of dish soap, now you have to shake it up the next time you do dishes because the softner settles to the bottom. Well I just thought I would share my discovery with you all. OH also you are flushing just a little calgon through the galley tank.

Hi Linda,

I do this sometimes too. I always add it to my load of laundry. It helps the detergent to work better with less and cuts down on mineral deposits. I sometimes use a bit when I add the fabric softener too.

I didn't realize Calgon came in a bottle though. Mines a box and granulated. I'll have to look for the liquid version.

Thanks, Linda! Since I am the dishwasher in this family, I will have to ask Vicki if this idea would work for us!
