SLC to Medford

We are heading to the Northwest in 3 weeks..
Omaha to SLC on I-80.
Suggestion on what to take from SLC to Medford.

How do you feel about mountain passes and 2 lane roads? Or do you prefer the interstate highways? We are currently in SLC...looked at the maps. Not many options....

I have gone I-80........to Reno....out to Susanville....89 to I-5.....north to Medford. All good roads.
