Dec 31, IL HWY 57 campsite

Looking for a park that may be open in IL. on Highway 57 south Dec. 31 or Jan.1 . as we travel down to Texas from MI. Just need to pull in and use electric. Stayed overnite in Arcola last year. Would like to get a little more south on 57 this year?

I am not sure how far south on 57 you want to go but just past Mt Vernon is Rend Lake. Wayne Fitzgerald (sp) State park is open all year. They have electric 50 and 30 amp. Dump station and water near entrance to the park.

I think we stayed in Mt Vernon last year. Look at Quality Times, I believe that is where we stayed.

But, what we do, EVERY year, is consult the campground books, find one that says it IS open, and then CALL!!!!

Campgrounds that were open, may no longer stay open. Some just do not feel it is economically feasible, etc etc etc.
