Can anyone mod the hyperlink button?
I have run into this a few times.
When I want to put up a link for another member, I know it is too long and will change up page sizing (side scrolling).
Is it possible to modify the hyperlink button so we could avoid that?
Is there an option to make this easier that I haven't found?
Example: http://www.google.com/search?client=...=Google+Search
To this

Looks like you've got it--and a very good idea too!

Thanks padredw...just trying to help the tech challenged. I find it difficult to remember myself and I've been around puters for a while.
I suppose this is in the wrong forum...the one it should be in is the set up and improvements forum, but that's under the Owners Club Page forums? I'm so confused...

To get a name to display instead of the path, it should look like this:
9url=8PATH8]NAME9/url]
Clear as mud I bet...replace the 9's with [ and replace the 8's with ". All the other characters remain, but replace PATH with the address of what you want, and replace NAME with what you want to call it.

Ozzie, No offense but, wouldn't it be so much easier to have them go to the the UBB Forums Code page?? This page explains all the different UBB codes used on the forum.
It is truly amazing the amount of information that can be found on the Montana Owners Club home page.

No offense taken Glenn...thanks for that link. I knew I had read it somewhere but couldn't find it.
That page gives a less confusing edition of what I tried to do.
After all the years I've been exposed to puters, I still have to stop and think of how to do those...

Ozzie, you could go to www.shorturl.com . There you put in your long link and it gives you back a short link. They keep the two links for a period of time. Clicking the short link in a post will redirect to the longer link location. I haven't tried this in a long time but just verified shorturl is still there.
See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!
