Hairy Drains

Okay, we all have hair (most of us, anyway) and hopefully we all shower. Our shower drain is forever getting clogged with hair and slowing the draining process considerably. In the past I have had to take off the screen and pull it out with tweezers. Yuck. Last week I went baby shopping with my daugher and the impending twins and lo and behold, they still make bottle brushes. So I bought one to clean the drain of the bathroom sink and it came with a little bitty one to clean bottle nipples which works great in cleaning the hair out of the shower drain. So much better than the tweezers.

Pam you can also buy a strainer type thingy that sets on top of the drain and doesn't let the hair in. I see them in those special catalogs I get all the time like Walter Drake.
Happy trails.....................

Oh gawd.... I just about gag thinking about cleaning out sink drains. That is one job I won't do at all. Years ago I would pour either drano or a can of coca-cola down the sinks every other day to keep them clean.

Yuck.... I have to get off this subject before I get sick!....*LOL

I also use the hair catchers for drains in the shower both at home and in the coach. Seems to really do the job. I found mine at Target for less than $5 each. Would sure rather have those than have to clean the shower drain in either house.

WalMart has a long white flat plastic thing about 18 inches long 1/2 " wide and 1/16" thick with reverse barbs on it. You stick it down the drain and when you remove it the hair comes with it !! just a few bucks!

I have never heard of using coca-cola on drains. It is a messy job that I could do without too!

Good idea about coca cola in the drain but how long do you keep it in before you know the job is done.
