USPS Change?
I have had two snowbird couples tell us this year that they have their post office transfer their mail to their winter home in Florida. One couple said they do it for 3 months and one couple said they do it for 6 months. Both claim there is no charge and they even get magazines forwarded.
I thought it used to be you could only have them forward it for a short period of time and even at that they would only forward certain things, like first class mail.

On Magazine's I have had problems with USPS I go on line with the Magazines and make the address change with them. One of the Magazine's site you can change 2 or three others because they are owned by the same publisher. Just be prepared with your account number from the label

Being a retired letter carrier with the USPS, I've had some experience with this. You can file a temporary forward request and the PO will forward your first class mailfor up to 6 months. If you are gone longer than that you need to re-file the temp change. As kdeiss has stated, it's actually easier to file the address change for your magazines with the magazine itself. Look inside the first few pages and you will find out how to do this. The PO will send them on BUT they only send them on for two to three months. They also send a change of address to the magazine so ask when presenting the temporary change to the postal clerk or carrier. IF you want all of your mail sent to you, you can have a neighbor, friend or family member pick your mail up daily out of your mailbox and have them forward it to you in a Priority box which you can buy and leave with them. You can buy the prepaid boxes at the PO and they can be stuffed full, mailed and be to you at your temporary address within four or five days at the most. If you move around often from one campground to another, you can do the same but keep the sender informed where you will be but it's recommended that you get a mail service through Escapees or similar organizations. Good luck and hope you have good service from the PO!

I mail 1000s of packages each year through the USPS. In the last 20 + years they have lost 2 packages. It is a fantastic service. I know this is a little off topic but I owe this to my friends at the Post Office.

We use premium forwarding at post office. For a weekly fee they collect all the mail for a week and ship every Wednesday. You get everything including junk mail and political ads. We have gone up to 9 months with no problems

Maybe someone can answer this question. This is the fourth year that we registered to have our mail forwarded from Illinois to Florida. During Christmas a number of mailings were returned to the sender stating the address was incorrect and not forwardable. In some cases they were able to resend and the forward went through. What's up with that? FYI, this is the first year we experienced this problem aside from the usual delays or lost mail.

I use USPS Premium Forwarding. They will send my mail weekly (for a charge of 17.00 per week) to what ever address I specify. I never have my mail delivered to my home, as we are rarely there. I do not want to put in change of addresses to each place we go, as we travel for work and only stay at each location around 8 months. I like having a perm. address.
I have heard some switch to North Dakota, but I'm not familiar with the full story on that. Maybe someone could share that with me?

Mailed a Priority Box containing 4 envelops addressed to first names only About 3 days later I received a call from the Postal Service that the package had been found broke open. they found one envelope and opened it. inside was a receipt for Christmas present for son. They called the Co the gift was purchased from and they gave them my Phone No. I told them there was 4 envelopes exactly alike and how they were addressed. Two days later the package was delivered to my son with all 4 envelopes enclosed. Pretty good service

footz1941 I’ve got one better than that. A customer in Florida sent us a package with our company name on it with his street address, town, state and zip code. We got the package in 3 days. I showed it to the people we deal with every day at our post office and they had no idea how we got the package. The only thing they could think of was someone at his post office knew who we were and send it to us. ???

We use the GoodSam/PassPort America Service out of Crestview, Florida and it provided us with an address to domicile in Florida.

Recently set u- an address thru America’s Mailbox in Box Elder. Called them on Wednesday and received our mail in KC Mo area on Friday Pretty good service. Will go to SD in about 2 months to set up residency and register vehicles, register to vote, and get concealed carry permits,

I belive the county for box elder requires proof of residency for 30 Days for CCP.
Plus, the now have two levels. Top level requires course.

Those are all good solutions, if you are staying in one place. Bill and I travel across the US staying a day or two and then moving on. We use traveling mailbox. Our mail is forwarded to them and we get an email with a photo of the envelope every time a piece of mail arrives. We then can choose to have them open and scan our mail, forward it, shred it or save it until we are somewhere to receive it. We have it forwarded by USPS but you can pick another venue.

We are hitting the road tomorrow for a month. The stop on our mail starts today. When we come home 99% of the mail from the post office will go directly in the trash. Except for the stuff we order online that is shipped via the post office and licenses, I would remove our mailbox. Almost everything important can be done online these days.

We have had the post office forward our mail for 6 months for the last 9 years. No problem. When we leave Az we call the local post office and have them hold it until we get home. We call about 10 days ahead so we don't miss anything in transit.
