Pretzel Salad
Very refreshing, looks like a dessert but it makes a great side dish.
Pretzel Salad
1-1/2 cups crushed pretzels
1/2 cup melted butter
2 tablespoons sugar
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1 (8 oz.) container of Cool Whip
1 (6 oz.) pkg. of strawberry Jello
2 cups boiling water
1/2 cup cold water
1 (16 oz.) pkg of frozen strawberries
Instructions
Mix pretzels, butter and the 2 tablespoons of sugar together.
Place in 9"x 13" casserole dish.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool.
Mix cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar and Cool Whip together, spread it over the cooled crust.
Chill.
Mix together Jello and water.
Add frozen berries.
Let gel a bit in refrigerator, but not too long.
Then GENTLY pour it over cream cheese layer.
Refrigerate until firm.
VARIATION:
Use raspberry jello and frozen raspberries in place of the strawberries.
