Towing Without a Slider Hitch
Is it possible to tow a High Country 323RL using an F-250SD with a regular hitch? Do you have to have a slider hitch?

Look at the Anderson ultimate hitches. Depending on which way you face the hitch it can be used in long and short bed configurations. I use one to tow my 2018 3920

We bought a slider B&W when we had our 2500HD. My thought process is...better to have it and not need it than it is to need it and not have it.(30 plus yr trucker here too)
Simply put one mistake without it (damage to truck and or camper) will cost more than the difference is between a slider and non slider hitch. To me it was cheap insurance.

I also have a short bed with a slider. Have not had to use it. But if I need it, it is there. Like other's have said, cheap insurance.

Keep reading and you'll even find folks with a slider, who thought they would be careful enough not to have to use the slider and then found out that on uneven ground with the RV tilting one way and the RV the other it's still easy to knock out the back window.

The back window on modern trucks costs more than you would believe even without any body work.

I have a F250 SB without a slider. I have the B&W hitch and plenty of adjustment in my hitch. Others may not be the same.

Thanks for the info. We have good friends who also tow a MHC with the Max Turn feature and have never used the slider in all the years they've towed. My current F-250SD has a standard non-sliding hitch and it looks as though everything should be fine. I'll be careful. Really really careful!

Same here. I have a 2955RL that I tow with a shortbox Ford, and have never used the slider feature on my hitch.

When I had a shortbed and a slider, I had to use it within the first 35 miles of towing. Needed it to circle around the cul-de-sac to park it in our driveway

We have the B&W Companion Slider hitch. We've never used it, but have twice run into a situation where we SHOULD have used it. Hubby was almost to where he needed to be and thought he could do without bothering with the hitch...lesson learned -we now have matching small indentations on the side of nose of camper. Luckily it didn't do any damage to the truck. (Yes, apparently it happened twice..the first time he didn't even notice it happened!)

Have a pullrite slider and I don’t have to think about using it but I know I use it because I can turn really tight to get the rig set for backing into my pole building. Wasn’t willing to take the chance or deal with remembering to have to get out to move a lever to move a slide hitch back.

I have a 2500 Silverado HD with a 24K Slider. The dealer forgot to put the slider capture plate on my 5th. I hooked up and half way to the campsite the uncontrolled slider (without the capture plate installed) slammed into the back of my tailgate, bending the brackets and main tailgate frame. $3200 in damage. NEVER do that again. ALWAYS double check that the capture plate is installed!!!!

Hurricane strap placement on a 2018 Montana, 3810 MS
The bottom is all sealed up with no place to attach the tie down straps. Any one install them? How did you attach them and where did you place them? I think there should be one lt. and rt. off King pin location, 4 on lt. side and 4 on rt. of unit. Any suggestions?
We have the site rented for the whole year and don't have to move it. We are considered rented 6 months+1 day. It stays on the site. Also, do you install a humidistat to control the humidity or use Damp Rid placed through out the unit? Which is the best and why.
Guess you can tell this is my first time leaving the unit on site in FLORIDA for the summer. Any suggestions? I'm on a concert pad. I looked at the straps in Home Depo. I would have to purchase a Hammer Drill to set the anchors.
thanks John
