FIREPLACE MAINTENANCR
We purchased our Monty new in 2011. The fireplace has been working flawlessly since day one.
I see on this site from time to time people pulling out the unit to clean & maintain their fireplaces & to cleanup the area within the cabinet. Our unit also has the TV that raises & lowers within the same cabinet. Both work great.
Being of the nature of "leave well enough alone" is it worth removing the fireplace just to do so. Or leave it alone until something noticeable happens to the performance of it & at that time do maintenance on it.
Could I get some thoughts on this. Thanks...............

I'm with you "leave well enough alone". If you would like to do something in your camper do like I do take a nap.

It depends on how lucky you feel. I am one who has taken apart my electric fireplace and found a huge collection of dust inside the fireplace and the cabinet. When I thought about, I figured why not, since it most air and is electronic and this kind of stuff actually attracts dust.
My truck works fine, too, and I do maintenance on it since I choose not to leave it alone even if all is working fine.
While you mention it, I am pretty sure that a TV that goes up and down probably would need some kind of cleaning or maintenance (or even some kind of dry lube) since moving parts are involved.
I hope you still have your user's manual and the frequency and process for maintenance is discussed.

There is an old engineer's philosophy, "if it ain't broke, fix it". That often turns out not to be a good idea.

I have never taken ours out even with full timing with three cats and all is still fine. I do vacume the air intake everytime I vacuum the floor, however.

I take mine out once a year to clean all the dust out of it. 4 screws less than 5 minutes to remove. Take your compressor to it. I can take it out clean it and put back together in 15 minutes, easy peasy.

ALWAYS UN-PLUG when working on electrical appliances.
I take mine out every other year. I have no pets but do live in the trailer full time. There are no filters and dust will collect on the heating unit. Safety devices should protect you from fire but they don't always work as anticipated. The heating unit is in the top of my fireplace and most likely the same in yours. It is four screws to remove the fireplace and several very small screws to get the top off. You may want to replace the burnt out lamps at the same time.
You should consider doing the same to portable electric heaters. They too have no filters and clog up with dust and especially with pet hair.
