Underside of Dinette slide material fraying

We have a pandemic production 2021 Montana HC 295 RL. In the past, I read a post on the underside of their slide, that the material was being frayed from the supporting roller. When I first noticed a problem with our unit, I contacted the dealership where we purchased the unit. I told them about the fraying problem, I was told to apply 4 inch gorilla tape over the area affected. As I presumed would happen the tape came loose, and rolled up on the roller. I contacted Keystone, they told me that would not be a warranty issue, that the slide probably needed to be adjusted, and the material, would have to be replaced. My reply was, the material under the slide is inferior, and should not have been used for that application knowing the weight supported by the rollers. Keystones answer is that they are not responsible. I started the process before the warranty expired, now with warranty that has expired, I am probably looking at fixing the problem myself, which I am capable of doing, it is just the principle of the unexceptable material used for that application.

It is a common problem, nothing to do with the pandemic.

And yes, one cause is slider out of adjustment. Suggest you have a pro do that.

Scottz pointed to you two links about the Darco Fraying problem. ChuckS developed a repair using UHMW strips. He has a video, in the Files section, on the repair. Here is a link to it.

Thank you for the info, the repair seems to be straight forward, and a very simple project. Brownte24
