Ron and Terrie Ames, Colorado fires

Please, let's all pray for Ron and Terri, they just finished their retirement home and they could loose it.

He just posted this on Facebook, I am sure he will pop in here when time permits:

We just arrived in Fort Collins in time to get our alert from Larimer County for pre-evacuation. We watched flames devouring the forest about two miles away. Got most of what we're going to save if it burns to the ground.

Please send forth our best and strongest positive thoughts and prayers. Ron and Terrie have been MOC friends for a LONG LONG time. They are good people. I am posting so we can get those prayers started NOW!

Big time prayers coming their way. Saw his post on Facebook a couple of days ago and have been sending prayers. Hoping the fire misses them and they are safe.

This is the 2nd fire near us since we moved in last month. What is being shown on the news now at the north end is about a mile or two away. The camera crews are filming from our mountain. Today they hope to do a back burn to remove fuel. Many of the people don't even know if there house is still standing. I can at least monitor the house by internet camera and motion sensors. Thanks for the prayers and thoughts. Especially pray for the over 1000 firefighters in harms way and those evacuated. There has been one fatality so far. We are on pre-evacuation right now. Kind of like being on super secret probation.

Ron and Terri-We sure don't envy you and the thoughts that are running through your minds at the present time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we pray that the backfire helps to save the retirement home. I see the Nebraska National Guard has been called out to help fight the fire so I guess you're in good hands now! [Take care and keep us informed and if there is anything we can do besides our prayers to help you let us know!

Per Ron on Facebook, they are under mandatory evacuation, they got out lots of stuff, but, had one load left and I take it from the way I read it, they cannot go get it.

His Facebook posts are grim.

Ron just posted that the house is still standing and his post was very positive about the outcome.

How's that for some great news?

Here are Ron's words:

"Morning came and house is still standing. We were on a mountain about 5 miles away and watched helicopters dropping water. Fire appears to be moving away but with winds changing it could be a problem. As of right now we are OK. I am planning on being at work Monday."

I am sure he will visit as soon as he can, I only post because I know many of us were concerned.

I am currently at the meeting for evacuees. The federal, state and local resources are incredible. When I went to bed last night, I had just come from a neighbor's deck. The fire was to the west of our neighborhood and we were north. Shortly after we left, they were evacuated. This fire is incredible in size. Currently, no homes have been lost in our subdivision. Thanks for the prayers.
