Scam from MOC

I forwarded a copy of a scam email to Lady RV this morning. A new member with no posts is sending scam emails. This individual lists home country as the Ivory Coast. Just a heads up. This is a new way for these scammers to get lists of email users. I don't know our policy of posting the membername here, but I hope this gets taken care of immediately.

I received the scam message also. I wonder if this might be the beginning of a stream of them.

Oz - How did it leave a Trojan virus, just opening it? I have AV running but didn't perform an active scan. Thanks for the heads up. I hope one of the moderators jumps in with some info on how this is going to be handled. Yes GEO123 was where mine came from also. Wonder what model Montana he has?

Same scam message here. Not sure about a Trojan yet. Doesn't there have to be an attachment opened by recipient to activate a virus? Geo123 will soon be a faded memory when Admin pulls the plug .

I also got one, but my SPAM coverage picked it up and caught it before it got into my mailbox. Of course like a dummy thinking that MOC was covered, I released it and let it in. Now I'll do a complete computer scan and see who it finds and do some quarintine-ing,,,,,...JB

my Norton security system caught and put it in quarantine, then I cleared the files. I shouldn't have opened it, knew better, but he is a MOC member... I think that should have been caught by the overseer, after all, he states that he is on the Ivory Coast.. probably not too many Montanas there.

Dave -
I also thought you had to open an attachment to release a Trojan virus. I'm ready to learn more. I'm sure someone out there has an answer.
