3400rl Bathroom Size

Had to get out of the house before we went nuts! Most people go to a resort, we went to an RV Dealer. The DW found a 3400rl she fell in love with. Everything was perfect except for the toilet room. For any MOCers with a 3400rl do you find that room too small.

The room is small compared to the closed in bathrooms, but it is not an inconvience.

It is also possible to set the toilet back about two inches if I remember correctly, I cannot however remember who did it??? Two inches does not sound like much, but I have been strongly considering it. I am a hair over six feet tall and my knees do come close to the wall. Besides, tell her that she should not be spending that much time in the toilet!!!

If this is a large concern take a look at some plans with side aisle baths. It's all up to the indivual's opinion. The deciding factor for us was we take company along often, and wanted the bath separate from the bedroom.

We have been living in our 3400RL now for 2 1/2 months and have not found the toilet to be inconveinent. We like the separate toilet for reasons that, when someone is using it, the rest of the bathroom can be used (sink or shower). We must remember that the total square footage of the 3400RL is only about 350-375.

I would just like a window in the toilet room like the Great ozz put in his. One of these days i'm gonna catch up with him and get one installed.

You could look at a 3455sa it has a separate bathroom and the main floor is similar to the 3400.

Is the 3400RL a new 2010 with a Thetford toilet?
Our new 2010 3150RL came with a Thetford toilet. The Thetford really did make the toilet room very tight and we are small people. I pointed this out to the service manager and he agreed that things should not be that tight in there. I took measurements in our 08 2955RL trade in that had a Sealand toilet and the room was the same size and the Sealand was about 3" shorter overall. So the service manager ordered a Sealand toilet and installed it at no extra cost. Needless to say this made things much better. This dealer and service manager are tops in my books, more about that later.

It is not bad if you leave the door open you can shut the slidding door if you have company, or just swing the door half way open, also it is nice you can grab the wall if you need help getting up. I installed a sliding curtain across to shower which gives you privacy if some one is sleeping and you want to leave the door open. Also the seat that comes with the unit allows you to sit farther back then if you decide to put another seat on there. I am tall and go about 280 without dinner. Good Luck

We had the 3400 and traded it in for the 3455 for several reasons...one of which was the room in the bathroom and privacy for family and friends. Love the 3455 floorplan. I notice the there is a new floorplan that combines the best of both 3400 and 3455. Check it out. I don't recall what they call it.

Just me again. I just checked the Keystone website. The plan I was referring to in the above post was from the Montana High County line. It's the 343RL. It looks interesting. It looks like the High Country Line is a new line. Very interesting.

We have the 3665RE with the separate bathroom. That was one of the reasons that we got that model and we really like it.

We have a 3400. Ed is 6' and closes the sliding door at the top of the stairs so he can leave the bathroom door open. It is the only time we use the sliding door so if it closed I know he is in the bathroom.

It is small but, to be honest, I don't spend a lot of time in there and I'd prefer not to have space removed from other parts of the rig in order to make the toilet room larger. Just my opinion, though. The 3400 is already at the max square footage allowed by law for an RV (anything more than 400 sq. ft is a mobile home and subject to different regulations) so it's not a matter of adding more room. It would be taking space from somewhere else.

That said, we would like a side aisle bath with shower and linen storage as well as toilet all in one room, though. We have not yet found, in any brand, any side aisle bath model that we like overall as well as we like the layout of this 3400RL. We loved the 3455SA EXCEPT in that model a washer and dryer must be a combo rather than a stack. That's an automatic "no" for us. We don't want a combo. I know some may prefer a combo but this is our preference and it's a deal breaker for us.

As long as we can get in and out of it is all that matters when it come to that particular room. We prefer to have additional usable space allocated to other areas.

I moved mine it is a fairly easy job and gives you more room. I love mine moved back.
