Questions for newbie

I just bought 2 new 6 volt batteries for my 2955rl that I just got. Do I need to vent the batteries? Also, the day night shades on the rear window will not raise more than about 6 inches. It seems that something will not allow it to go up anymore. The night shade goes up and down, but the day shade will not go up all the way. This is my first trailer so I am new to the game. I appreciate the help I have received thus far!

We installed two 6 volt batteries on our 2955 Montana several years ago. I made some notes about the installation that you might find helpful. You will find a DOC file at this link:

http://dw4u.net/box.doc

Here is a photo of the finished installation. We used a BlueSea battery box. The notes will explain the modifications we made.

Good Luck!

Yes you do need to get a box that fits and vent it. On the shade I'm going to let someone who knows what they're talking about come along and help.

It may be catching on the knobs that open the lower window. If so, you need to pull it slightly towards you as it's raised to clear them.
