I bet his converter is on. I don't know the exact draw of the two but bet they exceed 20 amp's. Especially with a couple of adapters on the power cord. Jim

You guys made me nervous after reading your posts, about why tripping breaker. I had been using a 50 ft. 12/2 w/gnd cord with adapters. Now I'm using my 30 amp 50 ft.RV ext. cord still using adapters, and breaker doesn't trip and I also have frig plugged in on AC too. Plug in voltmeter has volts down to about 105, but not tripping breaker. I don't need the water heater now, so I turned it off, and volts went up to 115. I think I would have been ok with my smaller cord just running frig, but I feel better with bigger cord out there now too. If we keep using so much power, I am going to break down and buy a 50 amp ext. cord, but I hope I don't have too$$ One question: Can I turn off the converter and how? I thought that was my main box and controlled 120 volt stuff and 12volt stuff. Converter seems to be ok, I don't remember hearing the fan run at all, which is ok, I hope, but unusual in my experience. Thanks

You should have breaker in your A/C box marked converter. You can turn that off and reduce the draw on your a/c voltage but all your 12 volt stuff will be running off the battery. Even if you don't run lights the propane detector, frig control board, water heater control board, and I'm sure a few other things will eventually drain the battery. I don't think you need a 50 amp cord to use your RV around the house unless you are running two air conditioners. I would, and have at my own house, installed a 30 amp circuit and receptacle so I only use one adapter. Gives me plenty of power for everything except the second air conditioner. Hope this helps, Jim

50 ft of 12/2 ext cord most likely was the cause. The further the distance the heavier the cord needed...

Sorry, but no breaker marked "converter" in my breaker/fuse box. Actually, we have had 4 campers now, and I don't remember seeing one in any of them. Would be handy, alright. I have been putting a disconnect at the battery for many years already, yup, otherwise dead battery shortly. Would be nice to have that 30 amp. outlet at home here, but probably won't do it cause of low usage here. Son put a 50 amp. outlet in for us to use when we stop to visit them, very good even with only one AC unit. Thanks for the info on converter breaker, Jim, and I do wish we had one.

No breaker? Hmmmmm. Look at the 110v distribution panel and look for a 20amp labeled "Conv".
While most of the other breakers are labeled with a printed letters, the "Conv" and "2nd AC" are hand-written (like they were written by a doctor's prescription, ugh). It took me a while to figure out what these were, but by process of elimination and electronic checks I was able to figure out their purpose and now I can see what they say.
I'm pretty sure there is a breaker there, you just have to decipher it. Here's a picture of my panel:
Here's the zoomed in part that shows #8 of the dual 20 amp breaker is for the Converter and #9 & 10 is a single 20amp for the 2nd AC (which I don't have).
Hopefully you can find the converter breaker in your rig.

Thanks for the pic of your elect. dist. panel. I did fine an unmarked 15 amp. breaker, but since it is 96 deg. here today, I'm going to wait for cooler weather to look at further since all is working ok. Thanks
