Quick question on wiring brakes
I am replacing the wiring (due to an unknown location of a short) on the brakes. All completed except THROUGH THE AXLES! Is there an EASY way of running the wire through the axle tube. I am guessing that the welded end plates are solid. Thanks.

When I pull wires like that situation, I pull it fairly tight, then go to the other end and pull it back to see how tight the wires are. Then I attach the new wires to the old wires and have someone keep the wires tight, so they don't curl and make a knot. I pull a double set if the room allows to have spares. But I overdo everything, so that step is not necessary, and there may not be room for that.
Good luck on it.

So the only way is through the holes in the side of the axle tube?

You might want to look at my recent post re a failure on my integrated brake controller under the tow vehicles section. Same problem - routed wires on outside of axle with zip ties - double insulated wire.

Also, have you checked to see if the short is in the stretch of wire from the driver side brakes through the tube and to the passenger side? If it isn't, connect and go!

I would run it where the factory ran it. Inside would be ideal, but....
Remember, critters love to chew wire insulation, if it is not in sight, it won't get eaten, snagged, damaged by repairs on other things. If you can see the place where the wire penetrates, protect that location.
