Valve Stems

Is there a special all metal tire stem recommended for the aluminum wheels on the Montanas.
What brand/type do you recommend?

I bought metal valve stem for both of my Montana's. The 09 I was able to use regular metal stems, the kind with the nut on the outside of the rim. The rim had no pockets for the stem. On my 2012 I needed to buy stems with the nut on the inside. These rims had a pocket for the stem to fit into and the nut and washer wouldn't fit into it. This stem is called an ENKEI stem. This stem has the shoulder on the outside and it fits into the pocket.

Since you normally have to remove the tire from the rim to install valves, the tire shop will have whatever you need. Good to have, whether you are running E or G load tires (required for G). Even though they may well tell you not needed for E, go with the steel.

I always use metal stems. Somewhere along the line there is a very good knowledgeable tire man who recommends metal stems for high pressures.
