Lubing the dining table

Anyone have any ideas about lubing the dining table. Recently, it has become very hard to slide back and forth. Could be our old age or all the rain we have been receiving here in the desert of Arizona. All ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Dennis, I have found that spray pam or other cooking oil works good. Just be carefull that you do not use to much to cause driping.

Is it wood on wood? Or metal on metal? I forgot and mine is in storage.
If wood on wood, cold candle wax is often recommended. Just rub it on the contact areas. Soap also works.

Humidity really affects all of the woodwork. When we were in New Orleans last October, I couldn't slide the table leaf out very well. Once we got out of the humidity for awhile, everything worked normally.

As BB_TX says, wax works well on wood to wood slides. You can get some canning paraffin and rub it on, or you can melt it and brush it on.

I coated ours with beeswax and it did the job.

I took a candle and rubbed it on the tracks. It worked well.
