Adding a Pantry
In our 2011 model 3150, the installed pantry leaves alot to be desired. The shelves are on a triangle due to the placement of the regfrigerator. At the door entrance, there is a 10 inch deep coat rack. Well, you can hang a couple coats, but the coat rack is just waisted space.
I have converted this coat rack into a pantry. I installed two shelf plates the length of the rack and then put the shelf braces on these. The braces are adjustable as to height. Then, after placing enough braces for five shelves I cut to size the shelves, stained them to match the hickory color and placed them inside the new pantry. As an added safety measure, I put a small molding on the end of each shelf to keep items from moving off the rack during transit.

I have a similar configuration with the triangular cabinets. In their wisdom, Keystone did not see fit to put shelves in the cabinets. I did the same on the useless coat rack cabinet by the door by using red oak 1 x 6 cut to length and stained then polyurethane finish. Now I have plenty of pantry space. I made several shelves by making patterns of the inside of the cabinets, used cabinet grade ply stained and coated with polyurethane. and then used HoDep shelf hardware to install.

cmawendy - I have a dumb phone and when I take pictures that I want to post, I am able to email it to myself, then download the picture to my computer and go from there. But I'm not sure this means you must have a means to do this at the computer. Some smartphones get attached to one's email through synchronization but one still should be able to get to the picture.
Personally and to me, the term "smart phone" is a misnomer only that it is not as smart as my computer, yet, but it is smarter than the standard cell phone. I'm sure they'll get there, but they aren't now and my computer is used for everything where a smart phone can only be used for so much. As for Ipod, IPAD, MAC users I am not talking about these because they are doing a much better job of being able to do all the same things on the same hardware, but I'm keeping my PC because it does more and I use much more stuff than the Apple platforms can provide. Everything has its place.
As for the topic, nosticks' picture sure puts the mod in perspective. We went with our floor plan because we needed a large pantry because we use the entry closet a lot and couldn't afford to lose any of that space to additional pantry room. Whatever works, folks. I do like to see other Montana owners being so constructive and innovative.
