Swapping out door look for keyless.

Has anyone changed the door lock to a digital keyless? Sure think it would be nice not to have to carry keys around. See Amazon has one. Comments.
Thanks in advance.

It is on Amazon.ca (I live in Canada)
AP Products 013-509 Electric Travel Trailer Lock.
Think it is a Bauer product.

This is the one he looked at; no experience with it, but it does not have great reviews.

If I was going to do it, I'd take a look at this one with a remote. (although it says it is for doors with hinges on the right side??)

I previously had thought about a keyless lock too. But I just had a thought. My Mountaineer doesn't have an outdoor light with motion detector or anything. So I wonder if it is difficult to punch in the code in the dark???

I installed the RVLock, works perfectly.Program your number and use your code to punch on the keypad to open or lock it or use the key or the remote control and if at night keypad lights up. When i bought mine was a deal with two keyless remotes.

I purchased the RVLOCK brand with the remote keypad about 3 years ago. Overall, I would give it a thumbs up.

My biggest issues are:
1. The batteries are only good for about 6-9 months. Easy to change out though.
2. When locking and/or unlocking, the door bolt doesn't always cooperate and may require a 2nd or 3rd try. Works probably 90% of the time first try.

I would purchase one again because of the convinience. And at night, my keypad lights-up after the first push of a button.

I would still have a door key available somewhere just in case of a problem.

I agree with everything Ranch560 said, my experience is the same. We had the RVLock v3 which has the keypad seperate from the door handle. Our only issue was that the keypad membrane with the numbers on it came loose, easy enough to put back on with double sided tape or contact cement.

Overall, very convienet; but keep a key for the trailer in the truck.

This is the one I have. I used the motorhome version for years and LOVE it. And the service is incredible!

We had Lippert install an RV lock at their plant in Goshen, then they replaced it at the National Rally a few days later, then they replaced it at Q and it lasted about six months so we gave up. Many others have had good luck, but not us and we're not going back there.

I bought the bauer keyless lock for 30.00 at a surplus rv store in september about 5 miles from the rally. A fellow member, thanks Danny installed it for me. Works good but is a little stubborn once in a while. Can't beat the price.

I really like the key fob with ours, very convenient and one remote will open both doors
