We are going east after the fall Rally and I would like to know if we are able to buy a EZ pass locally for most of the toll roads we are going to encounter.
Thanks in advance Larry

Looks like you are from Olympia, WA. If so, your only choice to obtain an E-ZPass before you get to Goshen is via internet order from one of the participating states. My research indicates that once in Indiana, you can buy an E-ZPass transponder at CVS drug stores. That would get you an Indiana E-ZPass. Generally, you want to set up your E-ZPass account with vehicle descriptions and license numbers at least 24 hours before you expect to incur the first toll. You may need assistance to put your Monty on the account because some E-ZPass systems consider the 5er to be a unique class of vehicle. After talking with the E-ZPass offices in NY, MA and NH and getting some incredibly stupid answers from all but NH. I ordered a NH E-ZPass and have used it successfully in every state that honors E-ZPass. One transponder. Vehicle information for both the TV and the Monty are on my account. Whether towing or solo, the tolls are posted correctly. I wouldn't travel toll roads without an E-ZPass. Good luck.

I had the same experience but I managed to get mine in NY w/o getting stupid answers. (I know, it's a rare experience) I just had to call and add the 5er to my account. It has on occasion not charged full price when towing, but has never charged for the trailer when I'm solo. Supposedly they count axles. I did have an issue once when my credit card exp date had changed and I hadn't update my account. Got a message when I went thru the toll booth and called them. The guy took a payment and said I was good to go. an hour later Got to a bridge with a gate and they took my pass. The guy failed to tell me it takes 24 hours to update the account. I called and complained and they waived the fine.

We use ours in several vehicles. We need to add the Monty for our TV. I saw holders for them at the checkout at Bed bath and beyond to stick them on the windshield when swapping vehicles.

Same here my EZpass is set to reload at $20 balance remaining. Only time I hear from them is when I forget to update the credit card expiration date.
