Assuming that you are referring to the red switch in your battery compartment for your inverter? If that's the case, then if you can see green in the notch at the top, it's ON, if not, it's OFF. Our 2019 High Country has a residential fridge with this inverter. With ours, you also need to turn on the inverter, located in the basement, near the convenience center in addition to the red button/switch. Some folks can turn on their inverter from the main service panel in the coach.

Did not mention model or year. On means battery is online. Off, you can remove the red key, means battery is off line. Objective of off is minimal battery drain. Depending on unit, some sensors may still be working. Many of us add a second battery cutoff so zero drain.

What is wrong that so many dealers these days don't do a proper PDI especially for first time buyers? Our dealer offered us one again when we purchased our 3rd Montana from him almost 2 years ago. Since we have full timed for almost 9 years we declined but did ask 2-3 specific questions about things our previous units didn't have. To the OP, keep asking any questions and one of us will help you.

Two things you need to know about it. First if it is accidentally off it disconnects the converter from the battery so you won't get a charge when plugged in. Second, if it is off it doesn't disconnect things like the propane detector and so after a few days it will kill the battery. In situations like yours, I would never turn it off.

Ours stays plugged in while in storage. I have never disconnected the battery. And never a problem. Just check the water occasionally.
