Purchased new hot water heater for Montana 3625RE. Hubby doesnít know how to hook up the electrical. Itís also difficult to access because water heater is located under the small bar area. Can anyone help? FRUSTRATED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!

Recommend hiring a mobile RV tech to install it.

Making a guess here, but if this is a Suburban water heater replacing the same, Have you removed the old one yet? Looking at the water heater from the outside, the junction box where the power connects is attached to the top left side of the unit and can be accessed after the unit is pulled part way out from the wall. The 120 volt Romex connects there as well as the 12 volt wires. When I replaced ours, the replacement unit did not come with the box with the relay and I had to take the one off the old unit and install it on the new one. You will have both the cold and hot water lines to deal with as well as the gas line. I would also suggest replacing the check valve that installs in the top water fitting, as that can fail and cause either water not flowing properly or can get stuck open so you can not winterize with the way the system is designed. I was able to completely remove, swap parts from the old to the new, and install the new one in about 3 hours by myself, but I was fortunate to have all my tools available with me.

You can find wiring diagrams for the water heater for both the 120 vac wiring and the 12 vdc wiring by googling.

But I would have to ask the question. How knowledgeable is your hubby in connecting electrical circuits? If he is not super confident in that, then you should get someone who is. A miswire could burn up components in the water heater or even start a fire.
