Missing remote?

Anyone know if a new Montanat HC305RL should come with a remote for the slide-outs? The controller has an antenna but I did not get a Lippert remote.

I could be wrong but I think you have to have the In.Command Center for it to work. Does yours have that system in the hall? Mine doesn't.

Also, what controller? There is a control box in the storage bay that controls the Lippert 3.0 Level System. I believe you can purchase a remote for that. Mine didn't come with one of those either.

Jeff is correct you have to have the In command to get all that!

Thanks. That was a 2 part question and the answers are what I have and what I expected. There is a controller in the storage area for the Lippert Leveling system. It has what looks like an antenna wire hanging out but I got no remote. Wanted to make sure I wasn't "shorted" by the dealer.

I'm still looking for any control boxe/s for the BAL slides. One of my slides is dead. Switches and fuses are good.

Yes, your HC needs a remote. If you purchased as a new unit from a dealer, he needs to provide it to you. If it was a preowned unit, you may need to do some negotiations with him.

Go to the Lippert site so you can figure out which 'black box' system is on your 5er - there are several over the years.(https://www.lci1.com/electronics/sup...-and-receivers)

If you can't convince your dealer that he has to provide a remote, be prepared for sticker shock as they range from ~$125 to well over $200 for not much from Lippert. There is another company that will sell you a supposedly compatible one that will may work (forgot their name, sorry) though if it turns out to be a 206436, you are 'stuck' with LCI or RV Upgrades as I'm currently looking for that part number to replace a dying remote

Thanks for the info. I had a remote on the Cedar Creek I had before the Montana but I never used it very much. I'll just skip it.

That's what we did with our 2010. Took the batteries out and left the remote in a drawer until we traded the rig.

Interesting that you don't use the remote. I use ours regularly especially when hooking up. I can move the pin up or down as needed without getting out of the truck. Then these past few days I've used it many times while installing slide toppers as the slides have to be moved in/out many times, sometimes only a couple inches- and my knees getting up and down a ladder or even the RV entry steps just ain't what they usta be

In the older rigs, sooner or latter the relay failed which created bigger problems than the remote solved. That's why some of us decided not to rely on it.
