Cell Phone as Modem
I have been fighting my new cell phone since last fall. I got a Motorola E815 through Verizon because I travel for work a lot and wanted the Blue Tooth capability for a wireless headset. The only problem was that Verizon has disabled the Modem capability on all of their Blue Tooth/Vcast phones. Doing some research and fighting through a defective cable and an idiosyncracy that it takes two tries to connect, I am finally online. We have cable broadband at home, but we spend weekends in the Monty about three hours away from home. Now I have the best of both worlds - the phone features I want and Internet access. This is currently running at 240k. The two items that we needed were a cable and also Motorola Phone Tools. Plus, to enable the Modem capability you needed to type in ##DIALUP on the cell phone to turn on dialup capability.
