West Coast of FLorida

Looking for a upscale RV park in June in Fl.
We have never been to the west coast. My wife is flying in to Clearwater Pie Airport and we are willing to travel about an hour or so south along the coast. We have no clue on what is out there. If anyone has stayed in that general area would like your input.

Thanks
Don & Donna

Can't really help you. We only spend time in Venice (south of Sarasota) and then recently winters in Ft. Myers. No knowledge of that northern area of the gulf.

Not an RV resort, but a very nice/ fairly new section of Myakka River State Park located in Sarasota County is full hook up. http://www.floridastateparks.org/mya...er/default.cfm

We love camping there. We live in SW Florida. If you want to see gators, this place is full of them and other wildlife.

Don, Fort Desoto RV park in Pinellas County FL is a nice park but not a private one. It's run by the county. It's approx. 25 miles from the StPete/Clwtr airport and appears if you google map it, it's a good 4 lane run to the park. Because it's a county park I have linked sites for you to review and you can even reserve online. Consider also doing a GoodSam rv park search for other places to include the Tampa area. Once you leave the airport, it's another straight shot from there across the bayway (4 lanes) to the Tampa area that can give you further options. Fort Desoto is right on the Gulf of Mexico. Good Luck. Dennis
